Tickets are $69 until 2pm Friday - Gate sales $79 from 4pm.

One child 12 years and under will be given free admittance when accompanied by a parent or guardian who has purchased a ticket. (Note: there will be a bus ticket charge for children travelling from Auckland).

Outdoor Concert
This is an outdoor concert. Please check the weather forecast before you leave home, and come prepared. This is New Zealand! We will play rain or shine, unless there are exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the promoter.

Cannot Bring into venue
Glass bottles of any kind, alcohol of any kind, professional cameras or recording devices.

Car Parking
There are no car parking facilities at Ascension. Parking is provided at Mahurangi College, cnr State Highway 1 and Woodcocks Rd and at the Omaha Surf Club. Free shuttle buses will bring you to the vineyard and back. Some neighbours will open their properties for parking for a fee.

Disabled Parking
Available on site for vehicles displaying disabled sign.

Seating
There is no reserved seating. You may bring your own chairs, or a blanket to sit on. Low or sand chairs are a good option. Generally you will be seated on grassed areas, blankets and low chairs one side and foldable concert chairs on the other..

Sun Smart
Please bring sun protection with you.

Food
You can bring your own food and sealed bottled water but no glass please. There will be food stalls on site with a variety of selections including vegetarian option.

Beverage
The event is fully Licensed. wine, beer and soft drink and water available. Absolutely no BYO alcohol.

Security
There will be professional show security on site and possible bag checks at the entry gates.

Eftpos
Cash out available on site. Eftpos available for ticket purchases.

Merchandising
Artist and Show Merchandising available at all concerts.

Chair hire
Foldable Chairs available for hire.

The environment
Civic Events Limited is committed to creating an environmentally sustainable Winery Tour and is working towards being a "zero waste" event. Rather than just accepting that waste is inevitable, we want to work towards eliminating it. By doing this, we can reduce the impact the tour has on the environment, provide clean and positive surroundings for patrons and help increase environmental awareness.

The Winery Tour supports recycling initiatives at all events and encourages patrons to use public transport to get to and from the venue by providing an excellent bus service for all shows not located in the CBD. Bus passes can be purchased alongside tickets to the event or separately, they are great value and traveling by bus allows you to relax, have a few wines and let someone else worry about the driving. Most of all, it's good for the environment.

Free shuttle buses will operate from the Warkworth I-site (opposite Westpac) directly to Ascension, and also from Omaha Beach Surf Club, stopping at Matakana School. Shuttles will operate on a non-scheduled basis from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, returning at the conclusion of the event.

SPECIAL NOTICE TO MARCH 9TH TICKETHOLDERS FROM ASCENSION OWNER DARRYL SOLJAN...

Ascension Wine Estate has been advised by the Tour Promoters of the Village People that due to a postponement of the New Zealand tour our scheduled ‘Party in the Vines’ concert date of Friday March 9 has been moved to Sunday December 2, 2012.
Your ticket and any vouchers remain valid for that date

The group and the Promoters wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused – and of course so do we even though it is completely out of our control.

As a goodwill gesture I am offering EXISTING TICKETHOLDERS two special ‘extras’ –
** A $5 discount voucher per ticket on any concert beverage purchase on December 2nd for ticket holders who keep their tickets for the new date.  On the day, you just show your original ticket at the bar. This can be used in conjunction with any other vouchers you may have been issued.
** PLUS, we have decided to establish a VIP area close to the stage and only holders of original tickets will have access to that area.

The new date has earlier times of 3pm gates open, 4pm Beat Girls and 5pm Village People on stage.

Closer to the time we will send you an email reminding you of the event details – but meanwhile lock it into your diary!

The Village People have sold over 100 million records and still retain most of the original and early lineups performing their disco and dance hits, including the trademark "Macho Man", "Go West", the classic club medley of "San Francisco (You've Got Me) / In Hollywood (Everybody is a Star)", "In the Navy", "Can't Stop the Music", and their biggest hit, "Y.M.C.A.".

Performing to acclaim throughout Cher's 2005 'Farewell Tour' the Village People still maintain a busy international schedule with their high energy show.

The Village People have been recently described as 'Still as sexy as ever - audiences warmed to their enthusiasm, strong versatile vocals and choreography,' (The News, Australia) and 'Exuberant - a wildly entertaining Performance!' (NY Daily News) while the London Evening Standard said, 'Fabulous! Village People took the crowd by storm, singing live and performing brilliantly!'

Supporting the 70's and 80's superstars are the Beatgirls who will kick things off with their own energetic, fully choreographed and costumed show featuring hits from the 60's to the 00's by everyone from The Beatles and Abba to The B52s and Kylie Minogue.

Important information re seating, parking, rain date, etc...

  • All tickets are general admission. We encourage blankets and low chairs. Those with normal height chairs will be directed to the rear and one side of the venue.
  • A full bar with EFTPOS will operate and a range of hot food will be for sale.
  • PARKING: On-site parking is only available for disabled guests.
  • FREE SHUTTLES will leave from the following locations where there is plenty of parking - outside Warkworth I-site (opposite Westpac) and from Omaha Beach Surf Club (stopping outside Matakana School), taking you straight to Ascension. The shuttle buses will operate from 2.00 PM to 5:00 PM, and from 6.30PM. Our neighbour across the road will be offering parking (subject to weather) for a nominal amount.
  • This is an outdoor event. We play "rain or shine".
