Winemaker’s Tuscan Dinner @ Ascension

Ascension Head Chef Predrag Jankovic presents a four-course menu served at long tables celebrating the flavoursome yet rustic peasant simplicity of Tuscan cuisine.
Each dish is partnered with a Tuscan varietal from the cellar of winemaker and host Darryl Soljan who will explain the history and grapes of this fascinating region.
$145 per person includes a flute of Prosecco on arrival, special four course Tuscan meal hosted by owner and winemaker Darryl Soljan and matching wines of Tuscan varietals.

Ascension owner & winemaker Darryl Soljan has developed the ‘Seven Secrets of Enjoying Wine’ and he will share these and more with you during a fun and informative day that is suitable for all levels of wine enthusiast.
You will take home real practical lessons that make wine more enjoyable as well as tasting wines from all over the world.
This full day course is outstanding value at just $189 and includes the course presented by Darryl, wine, notes, certificate and lunch. Similar courses cost over $240 plus lunch!

Croatian Feast Night @ Ascension

Ascension Wine Estate owners Darryl & Bridget Soljan invite you to spend a fun-filled evening with Croatian Chef Predrag Jankovic who will serve a special feast based on the foods of his homeland.
Combining a passion for food with the traditions of Dalmatia, Istria and Slavonia and drawing on influences from Hungary, Italy, Greece, Russia, Germany and the Middle East, Predrag will take you on a gastronomic tour of his Croatian home which is also the stunning country where our family began.
This fun evening is fully seated at your own table and will feature traditional live music.

The Ascension ‘Nose to Tail’ Dinner
Saturday 31st August, 7pm

There won’t be a pork or lamb chop in sight at the Ascension ‘Nose to Tail’ Dinner.
Instead, guests will enjoy a long table meal with an emphasis on whole animal butchery and old world techniques of preservation that utilize every part of the animal.
For Chef Predrag Jankovic, preparation begins months before the meal with a visit to his supplier who specialises in free range, natural fed heritage animals.
After he chooses his selected cuts, they are prepared using pieces from ‘nose to tail’ – and bits in between! They are accompanied by locally grown fresh side dishes that create an inventive menu, playing with textures, temperatures, and flavours available only when venturing outside the commodity cuts with which most are familiar.

Rare, delicate and tasty crustaceans are the stars of this special dinner.
Chef Predrag Jankovic will take his ocean catch and transform it to a four-course menu infused with delicate flavours to bring out the very best of ‘crab and cray’.
Winemaker and host Darryl Soljan will select similarly exotic and flavoursome wines to make this a real wine and food experience to remember.
