Throughout the centuries, winemaking families have actively supported the arts and we are pleased to continue this tradition, particularly with performance art.
Ascension has been host to many top names in the entertainment industry. We regularly host events & outdoor concerts that range from:

- opera
- contemporary music
- comedy
- poetry
- fine arts
Winter at its best!
Over the winter when the vines are bare, and the temperature cool, special dinners are held in the restaurant featuring poets, comedians and musicians. Meals are prepared especially for each event. There's nothing better than hearty food, the best of wine, a crackling fire and the stimulation of entertainment. Let others hibernate - this is winter at its best!
Harvest Dinner & New Years Eve
Our Harvest Dinner (including grape stomping!) that takes place each autumn, and our New Years Eve Extravaganza (complete with amazing fireworks) are highlights of the year and booked out well in advance.
The More FM Winery Concert
Each February we host two spectacular sellout concerts under the stars that feature the cream of New Zealand music.
To date this has included Dave Dobbyn, Tim Finn, Opshop, Bic Runga, Brooke Fraser, Boh Runga, Che Fu, Goldenhorse, Anika Moa and Carly Binding. Stay tuned to find out who is next!
