UK legend Lloyd Cole will perform eight concerts across New Zealand from early June, with our own master-songwriter Greg Johnson returning from Los Angeles to join the bill, including a one day only concert at Ascension Wine Estate Matakana.

Cole's solo concerts coincide with the local release of his acclaimed new album Standards - a stunning record which has generated Cole's inevitable renaissance across Europe. He heads Downunder after a series of sold out shows, and star billing on premiere UK music show ‘Later With Jools Holland’.

New Zealand's appreciation for Cole reaches back 30 years to early Lloyd Cole and the Commotions albums like Rattlesnakes and Easy Pieces, continuing right up to 2011's Broken Record (No 11 in the NZ album chart).

Cole's songbook houses gems like Lost Weekend, Perfect Skin, Rattlesnakes, Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken, Jennifer She Said, Live Lovers Do, Period Piece and Myrtle and Rose  - material which has formed an enduring connection with fans worldwide.

Los Angeles-based Kiwi Greg Johnson will play a rare solo set, celebrating the Autumn release of Some Other Place, Some Other Time - The Greg Johnson Anthology on Universal Records.

Johnson's songs have become part of our own cultural landscape, thanks to likes of Isabelle, Liberty (APRA Silver Scroll winner), Don’t Wait Another Day, Save Yourself, It's Been So Long, Now The Sun is Out, and Hold Tight – helping him to two NZ Music Awards and eight top 20 albums.

 An Osteria in Italy originated in thirteenth century Venice and was originally a place which served simple food and wine. The name evokes the hospitality and conviviality of ancient local inns which date back to Roman times where taverns were places to eat, drink and be merry.
Modern day Osterias retain this ambience but have evolved over the years to be more sophisticated venues for food as well as serving more varieties of wine.
The menu of a modern day Osteria will be a snapshot of what Italy does best-exquisite food and wine in a romantic Mediterranean setting with a vibrancy still evocative of the old waterways of Venice or the market squares of Rome.

Our new summer menu has plenty of fresh summer dishes, and you can start with a delicious antipasti platter featuring gourmet cheeses and cured meats made onsite by our head Chef Predraig. Check out the Seared Loin of Tuna, served with pickled cucumber, dill jus, wasabi avocado mousse and soy gel featured below - just one of the delicious new items on our menu.
