An off-peak wedding is great for the budget. Not only will you save big $$ at Ascension, other wedding suppliers (like florists and photographers) generally offer great deals at this time of year too. That means more money to create a truly memorable honeymoon. You could even spend the savings on a Northern Hemisphere honeymoon in their summer!

Less Competition
Winter is a great time of year for your friends and family to have a special weekend away in Matakana with lower rates and no crowds. They're less likely to be caught up in the hectic end-of-year pace and the social demands of summer so most will be able to attend - and really look forward to it! You'll have fewer headaches trying to plan the wedding date around other people or competing events - it's all about you!

Spacious Yet Warm
With our spacious venue, we can accommodate all your guests inside for your ceremony. We'll convert the Belfry to a chapel - a fabulous space with stained glass windows. There is no extra charge for this service.

The Belfry is centrally heated and has a beautiful schist fireplace that guests love to cosy up to and toast marshmallows by - supplied with our compliments! There's nothing quite like the allure of a blazing fire in winter!
